Book Club (Ages 7 and 8) – December 2024-January 2025

Registrations are now open for the December 2024 to January 2025 edition of my book club for ages 7 and 8!

For those who haven’t been part of it before, a little about it: I set up the book club in December 2020, and we’re now reading our seventieth book! Each edition is six weeks long, and I curate the four books we read during these six weeks, paying attention not just to content but also to what we can do with each book. The idea of reading together is to enjoy the process of reading and to build links with other activities, including listening, performing, writing and critical thinking.

Over the course of six weeks in December 2024 and January 2025, we will be reading The Great Escape (Menaka Raman), Bookasura (Arundhati Venkatesh), The Magic Finger (Roald Dahl), and In the Bear’s Den (Reena I. Puri). As we draw closer to the programme, I will share outlines of what we will do as we read each book.

Dates: 05 December 2024 to 28 January 2025
(There will be a Christmas break from 23 December to 5 January)

Online interactions: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:30 to 5:15 pm

Age-group: 7 and 8 years 

Fee: ₹4,500

Early Bird Fee: ₹4,200 (valid until 15 November; books will be delivered anywhere in India)

Buddy Fee: ₹4,000 (per head for two or more participants)
