Read, Write, Explore (Ages 9 and 10) – October 2022
October 3, 2022, 4:30 pm - 5:15 pm
₹5,000REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED FOR THIS PROGRAMME.
The next one will begin in December 2022, and I will open for registrations in the first week of November.
Read, Write, Explore is an ongoing programme for ages nine and ten. During each six-week edition of the programme, we read excerpts from three books in class. Unlike at my book club for ages seven and eight, we devote less class time to reading aloud and more to activities and writing. Additionally, one class every two weeks focuses on creative writing. Do note that this means that even though we read excerpts in class, most of the reading happens independently!
In October and November 2022, we will be reading The Paradise Flycatcher (Deepak Dalal), I Survived the California Wildfires, 2018 (Lauren Tarshis) and, for the first time, a book of my own – Dragonflies, Jigsaws and Seashells. Click on the book titles to read outlines of what we will do as we read each book.
Do note that this is not an intensive writing programme with assignments each week. It is a gentler introduction to writing, focussing on small writing exercises to stimulate creativity. If you would like to explore my creative writing programme for the same age-group, click here.
