The ART of Zine – An Illustration Workshop

At my creative writing programme this time, we are going to create a zine together. While the one we create will be an e-zine, zines are fun to explore and almost limitless in terms of design possibilities.
And that’s why the next guest session is an illustration workshop, all about zines and how we can design and illustrate them. This session will be conducted by illustrator Niloufer Wadia.
Niloufer worked for over 20 years in the advertising industry, before she quit her job as a creative director to return to her first love, fine art and illustration. She happened upon children’s book illustration quite by chance in 2016, when she took part in an online competition by Pratham Books. Since then, she has illustrated over 25 story books and hopes to keep illustrating for a long, long time. Besides that, she illustrates book covers for adults’ books, is an Urban Sketcher, and paints in a variety of media, from pencil and ink, to watercolours and acrylics.
As this is a guest session at my writing programme, participants who are part of my current batches will be part of it at no additional cost. However, this session is also open to non-participants on payment of a fee.
Material Required
- 4-5 A4 sheets of paper
- cello tape or Fevicol
- scissors
- any black gel pen & sketch pens
- pencils
- colour pencils/paints/crayons
