Varsha Seshan’s Book Club (Ages 7 and 8) – August 2022

The next one will begin in October 2022, and I will open for registrations in the first week of September.

All this while, I have been calling it a reading programme, but since most parents call it a book club anyway, I decided to keep it simple! It’s just the name that’s changed, though; everything else is the same. Each edition is six weeks long, and I curate the four books we read, paying attention not just to content but also to what we can do with each book. The idea of reading together is to enjoy the process of reading and to build links with other activities, including listening, performing, writing and critical thinking.

In August and September 2022, we will be reading Petu Pumpkin: Tiffin Thief (Arundhati Venkatesh), The Great River Magic (Nandini Nayar), Ivy and Bean (Annie Barrows and Sophie Blackall) and Help, My Aai Wants to Eat Me! (Bijal Vachharajani). Dates: 2 August to 9 September 2022

Online interactions: Tuesdays and Fridays, 4:30-5:15pm

Age-group: 7 and 8 years 

Early Bird Fee: ₹4,000 (valid until 15 July)

Fee: ₹4,500 (includes the books if you register from India before 25 July)
