Author Interactions and School Visits

I conduct reading and writing workshops in schools all over the country, bringing together the books I write and activities of various kinds.

With The Clockwala’s Clues, we solve puzzles and learn tongue twisters. With Dhara’s Revolution, students learn about voting and work towards creating an election campaign. With Fishbowl and Uncontrollable, I help students write poetry of their own.

In this way, students engage in an exploration of literature that also pushes them to get creative, working on poetry, portal fantasy, persuasive speeches and more.

FAQs

What grade do you work with?

Creative writing workshops are recommended for classes IV and above.

For lit fests, I have listed which grade would be suited to each of my books in the brochure above.

How long is each session?

Each workshop is between 45 minutes and one hour long. However, if a school requires something longer or spaced over the course of a few weeks, I am happy to design something suitable.

How much do you charge?

In Pune: ₹5,000 per session (45 minutes to 1 hour), or ₹15,000 per day for a maximum of four sessions in a day, plus transport.

Outside Pune: ₹15,000 per day for a maximum of four sessions in a day, plus actuals (transport, accommodation, etc.).

How many children can you work with at a time?

The smaller the batch-size, the more personalised the workshop can be! For the most meaningful workshops, I recommend no more than 20 in a batch.

However, I am open to addressing large numbers together, up to even two or three hundred in a batch.

What infrastructure do you need from the school?

For each workshop I conduct, I would ideally require AV support. Additionally, I also send a soft copy of a worksheet to the coordinator and require one copy of the worksheet to be made available to each student. Students need to bring notebooks and stationery for each workshop.
