I’ve been conducting teacher training workshops since 2015! In August 2025, for the first time, I conducted an independent online workshop on teaching creative writing. I was overwhelmed by the response! There’s been no looking back, and I hope to conduct one every couple of months.
The next one is will be held in February 2026 and is on teaching nonfiction writing.
Writing nonfiction can be boring for both children and adults. How can we make it engaging? How do we bring a little humour into what we write? How can we balance fact and opinion? We will address all this and more at my next workshop for educators.
I will be conducting the same workshop twice–please choose the date that suits you better, either Sunday 15 February or Wednesday 18 February. On both days, the workshop will be conducted from 5:30 to 7:30 pm IST.

FAQs
Educators of all kinds.
If you want to teach creative writing and you are not sure how to go about it, this workshop will help you plan your classes, choose texts that you can use in class, and work with them in engaging ways.
My workshops are NOT for:
- those looking to improve their language skills
- those who want help writing a book/poem/story
- those who want to find out about the publishing process
- those who want feedback on their own writing
Do note that at the moment, I’m not conducting workshops that will help you work on the craft of writing!
Each workshop introduces new activities and exercises. This means that even if you’ve joined one workshop, you won’t find the next one repetitive!
At my workshop on teaching nonfiction writing, we will work specifically on three things:
- making persuasive writing engaging
- understanding what comprises creative nonfiction
- using (and creating) mentor texts
At the moment, I am not teaching the craft of creative writing. Rather, the workshop focusses on how you can teach creative writing. As such, feedback is restricted to the writing exercises we do during each session.
