What we’ll do together

Details:

  • We will be working with Bud, Not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis. Do note that reading happens independently. Before the third class, I expect the children to have read the entire book.
  • There will be four classes in all. Each class is 45 minutes long.
  • During each class, we will focus on an excerpt or two, engage with it, critique it, and write something inspired by it.
  • The purpose of ‘Deep Read’ is not to read aloud together. Rather, it is to critique the book in greater detail, explore its themes, and have informed discussions.
