Description
During each writing programme I conduct, I invite experts from various fields to conduct workshops for my participants. While these workshops are free for those who are currently part of my writing programmes, they are also open to non-participants on payment of a fee.
The first guest session of the season is here, and it will be conducted by Aparna Kapur of Duckbill Books!
Aparna Kapur talks fast but writes slowly. Her most recent novel is called An Absence of Squirrels, a dystopian novel I enjoyed! She has also written other books I love, including I Won’t Wash My Hair and What the Dark Sounds Like. She is an editor at Duckbill Books. She loves ice cream.
Aparna will conduct a workshop for us on editing and revising our work. What do we do with our first draft? A blank page can be scary for a writer. But what do we do after we fill it up? Just like most of an iceberg is hidden beneath the surface, much of a writer’s work happens after writing. In this session, Aparna Kapur will talk about revising and editing your work to make it better (and also knowing when to stop).
