Kittu’s Very Mad Day
I remember meeting Harshikaa Udasi, author of Kittu’s Terrible Horrible No Good Very Mad Day at a lit fest several years ago. I had read her book already, but unfortunately, I had a Kindle edition, so I couldn't go up to her and get my copy signed. I told her that, and then, casually, a few days later, she texted me and asked me for my address. I sent it to her, and in a few days, I had a parcel at my door--my very own signed copy of the book!It's time to introduce this zany book to my book clubbers. Kittu is a more difficult read than the others in this time's selection, but I'm quite certain that won't make it any less enjoyable. Online Reading Programme – Second Edition!
Registrations are now closed for this reading programme. I was just about halfway through my first reading programme when parents started reaching out to me to check if there will be other batches. Even when I launched the first one, I knew I would continue the programme if enough people expressed interest. And so, here it is - the second edition of my online reading programme! What does a reading programme involve? Essentially, reading. As there are four books spread across 12 sessions, we take roughly three sessions per book. Naturally, this means that we do not read the entire book together. We read excerpts from the books together during each session, and then the children read in their own time before the following class. Kittu’s Very Mad Day
Packed with more characters than I could count, reading Kittu's Terrible Horrible No Good Very Mad Day is a crazy experience. Kittu's family is the most chaotic one in the world - and the description of the entire family ordering a meal made me chuckle because it is absolutely en pointe. I remember being embarrassed, nearly mortified, when I was with a huge group of friends and we simply could not make up our minds about what to order!But that's the lightest part of this review.
