Read, Write, Explore (Ages 9 and 10) – August-September 2025

‘Read, Write, Explore’ is an ongoing reading and creative writing programme for ages nine and ten. In August and September 2025, we will be reading ‘Jumble Sale’ (Shabnam Minwalla), ‘The Hodgeheg’ (Dick King-Smith) and ‘Agalya in the Spotlight’ (Divya Anand).
During the twelve online interactions, we read excerpts from three books and do activities of all kinds. Additionally, one class every two weeks focuses on creative writing. Do note that this means that even though we read excerpts in class, most of the reading happens independently! 
Classes are held online on Zoom, and there are only nine seats per batch!

Book Club (Ages 7 and 8) – August-September 2025

Registrations are now closed for the August-September 2025 edition of my book club. New batches begin every alternate month.
In August-September 2025, we will read ‘Vincent Can’t Go’ (Mariyam Fatima), ‘The Adventures of Mooli and the Sticker Trickster’ (Asha Nehemiah), ‘The Bald Bandit’ (Ron Roy), and ‘Friends Behind Walls’ (Harshikaa Udasi).
During every edition of my book club, we have 12 online interactions (45 minutes each), during which we read excerpts from four books. Based on what we read, we build links with other activities, including listening, performing, writing and critical thinking. Do note that classes are held on Zoom and that there are only nine seats per batch!

The Second Person Short Story

We all know how to write in first person and in third person. What about second person? How many second person narratives have you read, and how many have you written?
Develop the art of writing a short story using second person POV. There will be a mix of fun reading and writing exercises. Bring your hats of imagination along!
This workshop is a guest session at my online creative writing programme. It is free for those who are currently part of my writing programmes, but open to non-participants on payment of a fee. It will be conducted by Michelle D’costa, an author, editor and mentor.
