A wholesome book about baking, written by a pastry chef? Yes, please!
It’s quite astonishing the number of children who enjoy baking. Muffins, cupcakes, even bread and buns … children have told me about how much they enjoy baking all these. In fact, that was one of the reasons I wrote Think Big! We read Think Big! during the previous edition of my book club; I’m looking forward to reading another book about baking.
Here’s what we’ll do as we read.
Magical Objects
If you had a magical object, what would it be and what would it do? Equally importantly, what could go wrong as you used the magical object? I look forward to hearing what the children at my book club think!
Share a Recipe!
Do you know how to make anything? We’ll watch a quick video on making a sandwich, after which I will ask the children to write a brief recipe, explaining how something is made.
Author Interaction

We’ve read two of co-author Stuti Agarwal’s books in the past – The Adventures of Tootsie Lama and The Very Glum Life of Tootoolu Toop. When we reread the latter, Stuti very kindly stepped in to interact with my book clubbers, something she’s volunteered to do again! Author interactions bring a spark to my book club, and I can’t wait to see how this one goes!
Let’s read!
Book clubs are such fun! Laughter, creativity, imagination and fun come together in the best possible way as we dive into a range of books. Let’s bring in the new year with four more books!
